Gamecity Hamburg's latest Prototype Funding Round has awarded up to €80,000 to five digital games, showcasing the city's commitment to fostering innovation in the gaming industry. This initiative aims to empower Hamburg-based studios and developers to create market-ready prototypes, offering a crucial stepping stone for their projects. Among the selected projects are Manor Cartographer by Pipapo Games, a horror puzzle adventure, and Wrong Horse by Bird Outside Studio, a murder mystery adventure. These games not only demonstrate the diversity of genres supported by the funding but also highlight the potential for unique and engaging experiences. The funding is a testament to the quality and creativity of the games, as evidenced by the previous participation of Pipapo Games, Chasmic Drop, and Bird Outside in Gamecity Hamburg's Games Lift Incubator, which provides additional support for game development and market launch preparation. The Games Lift Incubator, open until June 1, 2026, offers a comprehensive support system, including €15,000 in funding, coaching, mentorship, workshops, and individual support. The awarding committee, comprising industry experts such as Nina Müller, Jonas Hüsges, Valentina Birke, Karsten Schwaiger, and Dennis Schoubye, played a pivotal role in selecting the funded projects. The committee's expertise and dedication to the gaming industry underscore the importance of such initiatives in nurturing talent and driving the industry forward. As the gaming landscape continues to evolve, Gamecity Hamburg's Prototype Funding Round and Games Lift Incubator programs stand as vital pillars in shaping the future of the industry, fostering creativity, and supporting the development of innovative gaming experiences.
